Interior Design Trends | Predictions for 2014
As we leave 2013 behind and look to the start of a new year, it’s always fun to predict what the newest design trends will be. The year 2013 brought us trends like grey, emerald green, and chevron; what will 2014 bring? Here are just a few of the interior design trends we think you’ll be seeing a lot of in the next year.
As far as textures go, we think that linen will continue to be popular in 2014. We also think that natural textures like burlap will grow in popularity.
On the other end of the texture spectrum, we think sheers will also be big in 2014. They add a light touch of beauty, and allow lots of natural light to pour through. These sheers we used in a recent design project were the perfect touch for this room.
You can also expect to see more patterned sheers in the upcoming year. These patterned drapes soften this living room, giving it an ethereal look.
Jewel tones such as teal, purple, and red will be strong in interior design this year. We adore the gorgeous purple drapes in this modern bedroom
We predict navy will be the new neutral of the year, pairing with a wide variety of accent colors to create different looks.
You’ll likely also see more bold floral prints in the new year. The floral drapes in this living room make a great focal point, and they tie together all of the different colors used in the room.
