How to Measure Windows for Drapes and Window Treatments
Ever wondered how to measure windows for drapes and window treatments? The idea can be a stressful one! Getting the measurements wrong by even an inch or two can mean big problems when it comes time to install. If you haven’t measured for drapes, blinds or shades before, you might be intimidated by the prospect.
That’s why Drapery Street created our easy Window Measuring Guide. Our guide can help you get the measurements we need to start creating your custom window fashions. Use our Window Measuring Guide to measure your windows, bring your measurements to your design consultation, and we will be able to help you find the right window treatments for your home, and give you an accurate price estimate. The guide is incredibly easy to use; in as little as four measurements you’ll have all the numbers we need to get started.
You’ll start by indicating your floor-to-ceiling height, and then measure from the top of the window frame to the crown molding or ceiling. Then you’ll measure your outside window width and inside window width. If you’re considering Roman shades or an interior mount product, you’ll also measure the interior window height, the distance from the window sill to the middle of the window, and inside window depth. The Window Measuring Guide shows you clearly where to take each measurement, and of course we are here to answer any of your questions.
The best part? You don’t have to worry about getting exact measurements. One of our designers will come to your home and take final measurements before your purchase is completed. We’ll take care of installation too, so all you need to do is sit back and enjoy your new window fashions. We believe that shopping for window treatments should be enjoyable, not stressful.
