Pleated Drapes Add Customization to Your Windows

Pleating can add much needed structure to drapes, but it takes the right pleat to truly create a custom look for a window. The traditional pleated drape, called the pinch pleat, is not always the right choice for modern homes. Our innovative design team here at Drapery Street has found a solution that gives the structure of traditional pleated drapes with a more stylish design.

Traditional pinch pleated drapes have a very large stack, which means that when they are drawn open, a large portion of the window glass is covered. In historical homes this is not a problem, but contemporary windows are not made to accommodate this stack. For this reason, Drapery Street developed the bleecker pleat.

The bleecker pleat is a pinch pleat drape that is a hybrid of traditional French pleat drapes and unpleated drapes. The bleecker pleat was created by Drapery Street to give our drapes structure and a custom look that fits a modern window space.

The bleecker pleat is the standard pleat on our Ready to Drape and Made to Measure drapes, and you can stop by our store in Carmel to see it in person.
