That’s where Darek and Hollie Woodward found themselves when they walked through our doors.
Why Darek and Hollie Woodward Chose Drapery Street
This trendy couple looked to us for window treatments that would transform their home. But that meant something different from each of their perspectives. Hollie wanted beautiful drapes that would amplify the aesthetic of their home and provide great lighting for her immensely popular Instagram page, @holliewdwrd. The top priorities for Darek, on the other hand, were comfort and convenience.
With few window treatments already installed, their home was a blank slate for Drapery Street to work with. We walked them through every step of the process, helping them choose the style, material, and features of their drapes and shades. Working with our expert designers, they chose colors and designs that complemented each individual room in their home, beautified their exterior, and most importantly were safe for their kids.
Finding the right window treatments was a process that both Hollie and Darek could get excited about. Now that their window treatments have been installed, did we meet their goals? We caught up with Darek and Hollie Woodward and asked them!

What product or feature is your very favorite?
Hollie: I love the look of our drapes! I feel like they make the rooms look finished. And because they hang all the way from the ceiling, it makes the rooms look taller as well.
Darek: By far my favorite feature is the PowerView® App that allows me to open and close any blind in the house with the touch of a button from anywhere.
Which rooms experienced the most dramatic transformation?
Hollie: Aesthetically, the main living area because that’s where we spend most of our time and it’s what everyone sees when they enter the home. Getting that space right was super important to me.
Darek: The living room has so many windows that late in the afternoon it would be overfilled with bright light from the west-facing side of the house. The fabric that we chose blocks the harsh light while still keeping our main living space light and comfortable. We can now sit and face the window without having to wear sunglasses inside all afternoon!
Have your window treatments changed the function of your home?
Hollie: Yes, for sure. The biggest thing for me was privacy and light control. We work so much out of our home and need to be able to filter light daily for shoots and try-ons.
Darek: Privacy and comfort are the primary reasons I wanted window treatments and the power shades have been my main selling point of the whole process. They make the whole system that much more functional and we open and close our shades much more often than we would if they were manual.
What’s one piece of advice you’d give to someone just starting the window treatment process?
Hollie: Go to Drapery Street because they were super helpful! They made a process easy that could otherwise have been overwhelming.
Darek: Take your time investigating the various options. Like most of the home building and furnishing process, there are millions of choices. Working with someone to help guide you through the whole process and provide recommendations can help make the decision process more manageable and increase the likelihood that you will love what you end up with.
